Let us introduce you to the wonderful world of glass and other crafts.

Course 1 ~

Recycling Glass

This course will explore many for turning glass bottles into practical, attractive items.
Amongst which are snack dishes, ice bucket, table lamp, cactus or herb planter, “vide poche”, drinking glasses, water carafe, vase or candle holder.
Your challenge will be to personalize them by painting or adding mosaic pieces. If you have an attractive bottle – perhaps of sentimental value from a special occasion – bring it along!  
The sky is the limit with recycling!

The sessions will be conducted as follows:

  1. Choose your bottle from our selection available.

  2. For your first lesson you will be supplied with a cut bottle of your choice – these have been cut in various ways – vertically, horizontally, slanted.

Number of sessions will vary according to your choices.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus the materials you choose to decorate your project.

Course 2 ~

Introduction to Glass Cutting

& Painting

This course will teach you the skills to cut glass easily and efficiently to create attractive and practical items. 
The possibilities are a candle holder, table light, vases.

The sessions will be conducted as follows:

  1. Deciding on the design of your piece and learning how to cut the glass.

  2. Painting the pieces using a spray gun or brush strokes. These will be fired in the kiln overnight.

  3. Preparation of the base shape of your item, i.e. cutting, polishing and assembly of same.

  4. Decorating with the mosaic pieces you have created.

You should allow 3 to 4 sessions to complete the piece.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus the materials you choose for your project.

Course 3 ~

Stained Glass

This course will introduce you to the techniques used in stained glass and will open a world of possibilities for you to explore.
We suggest that you start with are a candle holder, a table lamp, desk set (business card holder and pen/pencil holder) or a light catcher.

The sessions will be conducted as follows:

  1. Completing your design on paper and making the templates.

  2. Choosing and cutting the glass pieces.

  3. Polishing, washing and copper foiling the pieces.

  4. Assembling the pieces, soldering together.

  5. Final cleaning and polishing to complete the piece.

You should allow 3 to 4 sessions to complete the piece, which will depend on the design.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus the materials you choose to use for your project.

Course 4 ~

Making an Atrium

in Clear Glass

This course will teach you how to make a multi-facetted shape and attach eyes to hand the atrium.

The sessions will be conducted as follows:

  1. Completing your design on paper and making the templates.

  2. Cutting and polishing the glass pieces.

  3. Washing and copper foiling the pieces.

  4. Assembling the pieces, forming the shape and soldering them together.

  5. Final cleaning and polishing to complete the piece.

You should allow 4-5 sessions to complete the piece, which will depend on the size and design.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus the materials you choose to use for your project.

Course 5 ~

BeadMaking

(LampWorking)

Using Recycled Glass

This course will introduce you to the techniques used to melt glass in the flame to manufacture glass beads. The course is open to those over 18 years old. We suggest that you allow 3 sessions minimum.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30 and the

cost per session is Rs1,000.

The materials will be supplied and the charge includes

the cost of oxygen, gas and tools used.

Note that our studio lampworking station can be rented at a reasonable charge should you wish to continue making beads after the course.

Course 6 ~

How to make

Costume Jewellery

The sessions of this course will be adapted to your wishes and needs. Basic jewellery making techniques will be explored. 

Lampworked beads by Barbara will be used to manufacture

an item/s of your choice.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus the materials you choose to use for your project/s.

Course 7 ~

Making your own

Set of Tableware

This is a fun course or those of you who would like to use our metal tableware blanks and make up your very set of salad servers, small spoons or other items.

The number of sessions will depend on your choice of items and the materials used in the assembly of your tableware.

Sessions are held from 9H30 to 12H30.

Cost Rs800 plus materials used.
